A Little Bit of Goodness(es).

She's a big ol' chatterbox these days and cracks us up at how her stories are sometimes just a little bit dramatic....

And last week during a trip to our neighborhood pool, she decided that she'd shower like the big kids. So now, instead of asking to go to the pool, she asks to go to the shower. Check out her "cute cheeks"

Did somebody say FALL?

We're sooooooooooo ready around here so I'll be doing a little dance when it officially starts at midnight. We spent much of the afternoon putting up our fall decorations, some of us in full costume (this is not the official costume, by the way-- she has made it very clear that she wants to be a bee... specifically, a "buzzy bee".... and not a "humkin").

We had a wonderful weekend.... enjoyed our neighborhood swimming pool with some buddies on Friday night, made it to an outdoor family festival on Saturday and wrapped things up at the Austin Pecan Street Festival this morning and dinner with my sister at home this evening-- sooooo much fun and really nice to be outside, even if it's still pretty darn hot.

This is my favorite time of year and I'm just so happy that it's finally here. Mike dreads it because so many birthdays and anniversaries happen around this time... but I love it. Such a great time a year with so much to celebrate. Can't wait.

Happy Birthday

to Lily's new cousin and the littlest of the beautiful Hazard girls! We just got news of her late Friday evening arrival from her proud Grandpa and Nana and are anxiously waiting to hear her sweet name.

A few more

I still have about 2000 more to share. Really. :)

Bibbity, bobbity....

we're back. :)

It's pajama day around our house while we re-adjust to life outside of the castle... like all good things, it went by way too fast but we couldn't be happier about the whole experience. We had a blast and Lily cannot stop gabbing about her time with the "hi hos."

A lot of people have pointed out that she won't remember the details of this trip--- but it wasn't about that for us anyway. We wanted to enjoy every part of her "little-ness" while we still can and ended up doing just that. She reeeeeeeeally believed in the power of Cinderella's wishing star, hugged every character she came across, is still truly concerned that Nemo needs to be found and the memories created in moments like this one, with her tiny hand in his and her voice squealing "Pooh. Lily. Walk!" all day afterwards will stay with us forever.

We're getting ready to leave for Florida and being spoiled-by-all-the-time-fantastic-weather-former Californians... we're a little freaked. Even worse, anyone who knows me also knows that I'm a nut about flying. I'd never, ever let my fear get in the way of traveling but it's still really rough for me. So adding hurricane force winds to the equation makes me a little bit... extra nuts.

Luckily, I have these two cloned goofballs to keep my mind off all of that

Yep, somebody's feeling better and we're so relieved. She's still got a hacking cough but her doctor promises that it's a positive thing. I sure hope so.

Anyway, it seems silly to whine about all of this hurricane stuff when there are people out there worried about losing their homes. I know it's just a vacation. However; as a family, we reeeeeeeeeeeally need this time together and it's so hard not to be selfish. So Ike and Hanna, get lost.

Oh, and by the way, on top of becoming hurricane experts this week we've also learned quite a bit about the de-skunkification process and the magic of vinegar. ::gag:: More on that another day, though.

We're off to get our packing on (with space bags, of course).
