Cinderella and her little monkey...
we were crazy and decided to have 2 get-togethers at our house over the weekend. The first was on Friday with a bunch of our neighbors. It was long overdue and a great chance to get all of the kids together in their costumes. Did I get a picture? No. I'm really bummed that I didn't think of that.
The second little party, a tradition we started last year, was the pre-trick-or-treating kids' dinner. Crazy but fun. The kids were bouncing off the walls in anticipation of all that sweet stuff to come.
The daddys rigged that big pumpkin with a baby monitor so that it could "talk" to the trick-or-treaters. A few princesses were scared away by a certain 12-year-old we know. Hilarious.
Lil was a lot more timid this year when it came to trick-or-treating.... not so much about the act itself, but the "scary stuff" she came across along the way. She asked her auntie to hold her hand.
After the candy would be dropped in her little bag, she'd stand there and kind of peer around whoever stood in the doorway. The goofball was wondering why no one was inviting her in. So her.
She mastered "5 Little Pumpkins" just in time for the big day, complete with hand gestures and the big clap at the end. I'm determined to get it on video.
When I used to imagine what it would be like to have kids of my own, this was it. I love how warm our house feels when it's full of people that we love. It' worth all of the chaos that comes with it.
It'll be interesting to see what these two decide to be next year.
