a summer of firsts

After a few weeks filled with wiggly anticipation, the Tooth Fairy made her first appearance at our house last night. Her brother is convinced that he's next in line, telling us constantly to feel his tooth because "it's totally wiggin."

Another year, another recital. Except this year, she's with bigger girls and holding her own. She tolerates ballet but loves, loves, LOVES jazz. She'd wear those jazz shoes all day long if we'd let her.

I hope she keeps dancing for as long as it brings her joy. SO proud of my girl!

my daughter, published author

It's a thing of tradition at my kids' school that in early spring, the Pre-K students begin working on books with the hopes of being "published."

They take the time to painstakingly sound out each word and carefully illustrate each part of their story.  Once their books are officially ready to be published, they are awarded the honor of walking their precious pages down to the school office, where the director helps them to type out an official cover page. It's kind of a big deal.

The first one to be given that honor this year happens to live in my house.

My heart is full of pride for my happy, life loving girl, who just shines and sparkles. She has matured in so many ways this year.
At her conference last week, her teachers gave us a copy of her evaluation. In the comments section, they simply wrote "WOW!"

My thoughts exactly.
